Okay, let's get real this game's an absolute blast from PopCap, the same folks responsible for a bunch of your "just one more level" addictions. It first hit windows and Mac in September 2021, which, honestly, feels both forever ago and like yesterday (time is weird). It's basically a sequel to the OG Zuma, and yeah, it's available on windows Phone too, if you're one of the ten people still rocking that. Apparently, it takes some inspiration from those old Zuma the Lion kids' books, which is wild who knew? Plot's simple: Zuma's gotta scarf down fruit and find his way home. Classic video game logic, right?

Let's talk versions

There's two flavors for windows and one for mobile, and the prices are all over the place somewhere between twenty five and fifty bucks. Not exactly pocket change, but hey, people drop more on coffee every week. You can grab it straight off PopCap's website, so no hunting through sketchy download pages.

Under the hood

Zuma's Revenge! runs on this fancy tile based engine think tons of levels, and the enemies are all jungle themed, so you'll see some familiar faces if you played the first one. They've tossed in a random level generator, too, so good luck ever getting bored; the game just keeps throwing new challenges at you.

Social Features

And because it's 2021 and everything's gotta be social, there's a Facebook app that launched alongside the windows version. So you can flex your high scores, swap tips, and maybe, just maybe, feel like you're not playing alone at 2AM.

About those versions:

The free one only gives you a dozen levels, which is just enough to get you hooked. Want more? Of course you do. The Deluxe version packs in sixteen levels, and the Premier goes up to twenty four. Gotta pay to play, baby.

Critics and players?

They're pretty much obsessed. This one's been called one of the best arcade style games on windows. Seriously, the combo of puzzle stuff and physics based craziness is hard to beat. If you're into fast paced games that actually make you think (and maybe rage a little), Zuma's Revenge! is a solid pick. Just don't blame me if you lose track of time and forget to eat dinner.
