xRar
xRar is an innovative project developed by F. Abela College in collaboration with Troupe 18(VO/0003), under the guidance of Dr. Trevor Borg. Originating from the International Academy of Arts in Milan, Italy, during the summer of 2021, this interactive initiative draws inspiration from the works of Frank Gehry, a renowned contemporary artist based in Paris, France. The term "xRar" translates to parks in Maltese, capturing the essence of the project's educational and artistic goals.
The second phase of xRar involves the setup of an engaging multimedia system. This includes a large display, a DVD ROM, and compatible software, all working together to provide a unique experience that stands in stark contrast to conventional museum displays. Developed in partnership with the Institute of Audio, Visual and Communication Arts in Los Angeles, California, the system employs a proprietary architecture. One key feature is the use of live coding, a non destructive method that securely preserves digital images and sound tracks, making them highly resistant to physical damage. This durability allows the xRar Festival to operate seamlessly for an entire year without additional financial support.
To completely remove xRar from your system, there are two main approaches. The first involves following the built in instructions for uninstalling on Windows XP or Windows Vista. If these operating systems are not available on your device, you will need to install Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows Vista Home Edition. Start by opening the Start Menu, selecting "Run", and entering "msconfig" into the field before pressing "enter". Click "OK", and a window will appear where you can choose to install or remove programs from a list of options.
