Serena

If you're into games that blend mystery with a touch of romance and don't mind a little darkness creeping in then Serena might just be your next favorite short adventure. Developed by Senscape, this point and click gem pulls you into a simple but deeply atmospheric story. You play as a man waiting in a secluded forest cabin for his wife, Serena. The catch? He can’t remember a single thing about her. Not her face, not her voice, nothing. And it’s up to you to help him piece together those lost memories by exploring the cabin and interacting with objects that trigger fragments of the past.

At first, Serena feels almost cozy a quiet, romantic setup in a rustic wooden cabin surrounded by nature. But don’t get too comfortable. As you dig deeper, the mood shifts. Things get eerie, tense, and honestly, a bit unsettling. The storytelling is subtle but powerful, and the simplicity of the gameplay works in its favor. You’re not solving complex puzzles or managing inventory just clicking around, soaking in the ambiance, and uncovering a story that’s equal parts sad and spooky.

One thing to note: Serena is short. Like, really short. You can easily finish it in under an hour. But that’s part of its charm it doesn’t overstay its welcome. The voice acting, done by Josh Mandel and Sarah Wilson, is top notch and really brings the characters to life. On the downside, there aren’t any in game settings to tweak, and hitting ESC will shut the whole thing down without saving. So maybe don’t play this one when you’re in a hurry. Still, if you love narrative driven games with emotional weight and a gothic twist, Serena is absolutely worth your time.
