Rem-VBSworm
Meet Rem VBSworm (Remediate VBS Worm), a handy anti malware tool built to tackle sneaky VBS based threats. It’s especially good at hunting down and wiping out infections like Bladabindi, Excedow, Jenxcus, and Houdini/Dinihu. But it doesn’t stop there Rem VBSworm also shields your system from Windows Script Host (WSH) malware and autorun worms that often spread through USB drives.
Using Rem VBSworm is pretty straightforward. Just plug in your infected USB drive, fire up the tool, and follow the on screen options A, B, C, and D in that exact order for the best results. Once you’re done, it’s a good idea to run a full scan with your regular antivirus to make sure everything’s clean.
Option A is your first line of defense: it cleans active infections and reverses any registry tweaks the malware might have made, helping restore your system’s settings.
With Option B, you’ll need to type the drive letter of your USB just the letter, like "S" if that’s what it’s named. This step targets malware hiding on the USB itself and also unhides any files that were concealed by the infection.
Option C lets you download Panda USB Vaccine right from the tool a nice bonus that helps block future autorun attacks from infected drives.
Finally, Option D gives you control over Windows Script Host (WSH). You can enable or disable it depending on your security needs, which is useful since some malware relies on WSH to execute harmful scripts.
One important tip: always run Rem VBSworm as an Administrator. If you don’t, it might not have the permissions it needs to fully remove infections, leaving your system at risk.
