MS Paint

Ever since Microsoft launched in 1985, MS Paint has been a familiar, friendly face in the world of digital creativity. It’s one of those classic tools that’s been around forever, letting people doodle, sketch, and make simple pixel art without any of the fuss that comes with heavy duty programs like Photoshop.

Over the years, Paint has kept its look pretty much the same simple, clean, and super easy to figure out. Up at the top, you’ve got your main menu with options like saving and settings, and on the left, a toolbar that changes depending on what you’re doing. Whether you’re picking a brush or formatting shapes, everything’s right there where you need it.

It may not have all the bells and whistles of modern editors no layers, no fancy filters, no pro level retouching but that’s not really the point. Paint is all about keeping things straightforward. You can draw, erase, fill, and even work with common image formats like JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP. It’s perfect for quick ideas, simple edits, or just messing around when you don’t want to open something complicated.

These days, Paint isn’t automatically installed with Windows 10 Microsoft’s shifted focus to Paint 3D but you can still download it from the Microsoft Store if you miss that old school vibe. It might feel like a digital relic to some, but for anyone who wants to sketch without a steep learning curve, MS Paint remains a charming and totally usable little app.

So if you’re looking for something no frills and fun, give Paint a try. It won’t replace Photoshop, but it’s got its own kind of magic.
