The gameplay is where Yomi Hustle truly shines. There’s something incredibly addictive about plotting your combos and seeing them unfold exactly as you imagined. That said, the visuals are… rough. We’re talking stick figure level graphics with attacks represented by abstract colored shapes. It’s not just retro it’s barebones. For some, this might be a dealbreaker, especially if you’re used to flashy, polished fighters like Street Fighter or Tekken. It can be hard to tell what’s happening on screen at times, which is a shame because the gameplay underneath is so rich.

But if you can push past the MS Paint aesthetic, you’ll find one of the most original and engaging fighting experiences out there. The game is still in Early Access, so there’s hope that the developers might give it a visual overhaul down the line. Even if they don’t, the core gameplay is strong enough to make Yomi Hustle worth your time. It’s a hidden gem for strategy lovers just don’t expect it to win any beauty contests.
