WWE Raw

If you're a fan of WWE and looking for a PC game that brings the drama and excitement of the show to your screen, WWE Raw might catch your eye at first. The idea of stepping into the ring as your favorite superstar, trash talking opponents, and delivering those over the top speeches sounds like a blast. But here's the reality: the game falls short in almost every way, especially if you try the demo version. It's like getting all hype and no payoff.

When it comes to action, the trial version gives you a tiny taste just two characters and a single chapter to play through. It's over before you know it, leaving you wanting more, but not necessarily in a good way. The full game promises more content, but the demo doesn't do a great job selling it. If you love the TV series, you might enjoy the atmosphere, but the actual gameplay? Not so much.

Let's talk graphics, because wow, they are rough. Even by older standards, WWE Raw looks dated. Up close, you can see pixels on the character models, and the animations are stiff and awkward. Wrestlers move in a clunky, unnatural way that breaks the immersion. It's clear the developers prioritized capturing the show's vibe over smooth visuals, but it ends up feeling cheap and unfinished.

The controls don't make things any easier. The tutorial is practically useless it barely explains the basics, leaving you to figure out complex combos on your own. In the heat of a match, you'll find yourself button mashing just to land a punch. It's frustrating, especially when you're trying to unlock new characters by winning matches but can't even get the hang of fighting. Most of the time, matches devolve into wrestlers awkwardly running circles around the ring.

Overall, WWE Raw is a letdown. It's not just the limited demo; the full game struggles to deliver a satisfying experience. There are much better WWE titles out there, like WWE '12 and beyond, which offer smoother gameplay, better graphics, and more depth. This one feels like a missed opportunity it nails the show's atmosphere with crowd noises, music, and heckling, but when it comes to actual fun, it's all show and no substance.
