Viking: Battle for Asgard

If you're into epic Norse mythology and massive battles, you've got to check out Viking: Battle for Asgard. Developed by Creative Assembly the same studio behind the Total War series this game throws you right into the heart of Midgard as Skarin, a young warrior handpicked by the goddess Freya herself. Your mission? Stop Hel, Loki’s vengeful daughter, from triggering Ragnarok and wiping out the gods and the world as we know it.

What makes this game stand out is its open world design. You’re free to roam three distinct islands, each packed with unique quests, hidden secrets, and plenty of danger. As you explore, you’ll recruit Viking warriors scattered across the land each ally you gather becomes part of your growing army, ready to join you in the game’s jaw dropping large scale battles. And when I say large scale, I mean hundreds of soldiers clashing at once in chaotic, blood pumping combat.

Originally released for consoles, the Windows version brings this classic to PC gamers with optimized controls and visuals. Though it’s been around for a while, the mix of exploration, army building, and mythic storytelling still holds up. If you love action games with a rich setting and don’t mind a bit of old school charm, Viking: Battle for Asgard is definitely worth your time.
