Sonic: Robo Blast 2
So I finally got my hands on Sonic: Robot Blast 2 the latest entry in the Sonic universe. It’s actually a souped up version of Sonic and the Dark Stone Saga, originally released for the Nintendo GameCube. If you’ve played classic Sonic titles, you’ll feel right at home here. The game throws you straight into Sonic’s world, packed with missions, challenges, and that signature high speed platforming we all love.
One of the coolest features is the character choice: you can either play as Sonic himself or try out the new Robot Blast character. As Sonic, you’re dashing through vibrant levels, snagging Chaos Emeralds, unlocking new abilities, and smashing enemy robots along the way. There’s even a tower climbing mode where you take on epic boss fights classic Sonic vibes with a fresh twist.
The story kicks off with Dr. Eggman’s latest scheme using Chaos energy to create his idea of a “perfect world.” As you advance, you pick up tools and power ups that make navigating levels smoother and combat more satisfying. You get better weapons, enhanced mobility, and special skills that help you blast through missions faster. It’s rewarding in that old school Sonic way, though I have to say the graphics aren’t mind blowing. They’re decent, but after a few hours, things start to feel a bit repetitive visually. Still, if you grew up playing Sonic on the Sega Genesis, you’ll probably overlook that and just enjoy the ride.
There’s one level in particular that feels like a love letter to longtime fans. It’s built for speed demanding quick reflexes, well timed jumps, shield usage, and dash moves to avoid traps and pitfalls. Nail this stage, and you unlock something even tougher (though not quite as brutal as the final level). Your success really depends on how well you know Sonic’s mechanics this game doesn’t hold your hand through the tricky parts.
All in all, Sonic: Robot Blast 2 is a solid, fun throwback with some modern upgrades. It might not win awards for its visuals, but it’s got heart, challenge, and plenty of that blue blur energy.
