Instead, it pulls you into a beautifully grim world that feels like you're playing inside a moving, hand painted medieval manuscript. The art style alone is a huge reason to give it a shot.

You play as Cecil, a cleric with a seriously tough job: diving into the corrupted minds of the townsfolk in Sinwell to root out their inner demons. The twist? You fight fire with fire by using demonic powers yourself. The coolest part of the gameplay is the transformation system. You’re not stuck with one set of abilities. You can shift into four different creatures think along the lines of a swift, spectral wolf or a hulking, brute force beast each with its own combat style and a full skill tree to unlock. This means you're constantly adapting your strategy, choosing the right form to solve puzzles or tear through specific enemies. It keeps the 31 levels of side scrolling action feeling fresh.

Your choices matter here, too. The game branches, leading to different endings based on how you handle the moral gray areas of cleansing (or perhaps condemning) the minds you explore.
