Ratatouille
So I've been checking out Ratatouille, this new multiplayer browser action game from THQ, and honestly? It's kinda wild. People are split on it some are calling it the best zombie game out right now, while others aren't sold. But after spending some time with it, I get the hype. There are versions for both Windows and Mac, so pretty much everyone can jump in.
The game was put together by Heavy Iron Studios (yep, they're based in France, which feels fitting) and published by THQ. You're basically thrown into this rural farmhouse setup where you play as Remy, a farmhand, and his crew. The goal? Save his farming family by pulling off all sorts of wild stuff brave acts, funny moments, some seriously dramatic turns, and straight up adventures. Oh, and you experience it all in first person, which really pulls you into the chaos. Rumor has it Ratatouille is coming to Xbox 360 this summer, with PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS versions dropping later this year.
The Windows version is packed with remade scenes and music from the movie, which is cool if you're a fan. But what really hooked me were the abbey playgrounds. Think climbing towers, swing sets, sand traps even a chessboard and a basketball hoop. There’s always something silly or surprising happening, like random dogs, cats, other farm animals wandering around, or running into Remy’s always pissed ex girlfriend Nelly. And the replay value? Seriously solid. There are tons of achievements and hidden secrets that make you want to play through again and again. It’s one of those games where you notice something new every time.
