Prototype 2: Buckle Up, This One's Bonkers

So, Prototype 2? Yeah, it doesn't exactly roll out the welcome mat. It just grabs you, shoves you into the middle of mutant mayhem, and basically yells, "Good luck, buddy!" You're running around as Sgt. James Heller not exactly your average Joe, unless your neighbors can also shapeshift and whip out tentacle arms at dinner parties. Heller's got more wild powers than a Saturday morning cartoon villain. Absorb people, steal their look, become whoever you want honestly, it's a power trip and a half. And it just makes the whole story feel way gnarlier than you'd ever expect.

New York Zero: Welcome to the Freakshow

They dump you in this jacked up version of NYC called New York Zero. Each area? Total trainwreck, but in a good way. Some spots are crawling with virus mutant nightmares, others are locked down tighter than Fort Knox. The missions? All over the map, man. One second you're creeping around all stealthy, next you're drop kicking helicopters and turning tanks into scrap metal with your bare mutant hands. Boring? Not even slightly.

Getting from A to B? Oh, it's a riot. You're leaping rooftops, parkouring up buildings like Spider Man after four energy drinks, gliding over the city like you own the place. And the combat? Absolutely nuts. Don't think you can just button mash your way out of trouble the bad guys hit back, and some of those boss fights will make you question your life choices. Voice acting's actually legit for once, not that weird, awkward stuff you'd expect. Graphics? Slicker than an oil spill at a water park. If you've got decent headphones, crank ?em up the sound design is killer.

Not gonna lie, a few missions are straight up filler, and there's at least one boss that'll have you rage quitting for a snack break. Still, Prototype 2 is one of those open world games where you look up and, oops, it's 3 AM. It's a wild mix of carnage and dark story beats that'll keep you sucked in. If you want a sandbox game that doesn't babysit you, this one's an absolute must.
