Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Review
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands doesn't mess around, man. You hit "start" and boom total chaos. Magic flying everywhere, stuff exploding, and the Prince just trying to keep his hair looking fabulous while the world goes to hell. If you were into Sands of Time, this is Ubisoft basically kicking down your door and yelling, "You want some more of that? Here ya go!" The Prince rolls up to his brother's crib and surprise! everything's on fire. Magical nonsense gets unleashed, our guy starts doubting his life choices, and suddenly you're sprinting across walls like a caffeinated squirrel. It's Prince of Persia, but with the insanity cranked up a notch.
Gameplay: Smooth, Dynamic, and Fluid
Now, the gameplay? So smooth it might as well be butter. Controls are tight, parkour feels like you're living your best ninja fantasy, and the swordplay? Ugh, beautiful. The Prince is basically out here auditioning for Cirque du Soleil flipping, leaping, dodging traps like he's allergic to being boring. And if you goof up? Just hit rewind like nothing happened. Or do this bonkers move where you freeze water mid air and bounce around like a discount Waterbender. Keeps the puzzles fresh, keeps the fights interesting, and honestly, nothing feels lazy. Plus, dang, the graphics. Sometimes you'll find yourself just staring at the scenery, totally ignoring the dudes trying to murder you. Can't help it, it looks that good.
Story and Lore
Story? Oh, they wedge this one right in the timeline, between Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Lore nerds are gonna have a field day. The Prince gets all deep and angsty, fighting monsters and his own self doubt. Watching him have a meltdown? Weirdly satisfying, not gonna lie.
pc System Requirements
Heads up before you jump in: does your pc have enough muscle, or are you about to set your rig on fire? Don't embarrass yourself. Here's what you need:
Minimum Specs:
- OS: windows XP (SP3) or Vista (SP2)
- CPU: 2.6GHz dual core if you're running less, good luck
- RAM: 1GB for XP, 2GB if you're living that Vista life
- Graphics: 256MB DirectX 9.0c, Shader Model 3.0+
- DirectX: 9.0c
- Storage: 8GB free (seriously, clean up that desktop)
- Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible
- Controls: Keyboard/mouse or grab an Xbox 360 controller if you're fancy
- Internet: 128 kbps broadband minimum (if you're still using dial up, I'm judging)
Supported Graphics Cards:
- NVIDIA: GeForce 6800, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, GTX series
- ATI: Radeon X1600, HD 2000/3000/4000/5000 series
Laptops? Eh. Maybe it'll work, maybe it'll explode. Check your specs unless you're feeling brave.
Final Verdict
Finally Prince of Persia still bangs. If you're on windows and itching for some old school magic and mayhem, block off your weekend. Don't blame me when you look up and it's 4 a.m. and you're still chasing glowing sand monsters.
