Odio
Ever wanted to explore global radio stations without the hassle? Odio makes it possible. Built on Electron, this sleek streaming app gives you instant access to over 20,000 radio stations from every corner of the world. Whether you're into jazz from New Orleans, electronic beats from Berlin, or talk radio from Tokyo, you’ll find it here and you can easily filter stations by name, genre, country, or language.
One thing to note: while Odio is completely free to use, it’s not open source. That means you can’t add your own custom streams or dig into the radio data system for Odio compatible stations. But what it lacks in customization, it makes up for in simplicity and performance.
Under the hood, Odio runs on Chromium and Node.js, which means it’s lightweight and reliable. It comes in two flavors: an installer version for Windows (7, 8, or 10) that takes up just 5.8 MB of space, and a portable edition for Ubuntu users. The portable version is especially handy if you prefer avoiding frequent command line tweaks.
Both versions offer the same clean, intuitive interface. You won’t get lost in complicated menus everything is neatly organized. When you open Odio, you can choose between dark or light mode and see your favorites, recently played stations, and settings all on the left sidebar.
As an Electron app, Odio updates automatically, so you’re always on the latest version. And if you’re tech savvy, you can even use Chromium Developer Tools within the app to troubleshoot or optimize performance. Found a bug? You can report it directly on Odio’s GitHub page.
Each station comes with handy details like its country of origin, codec, bitrate, and the last time it was checked so you know you’re getting a quality stream. All in all, Odio delivers a smooth, personalized radio experience without any fuss.
