NetDrive

When it comes to moving files securely over the internet, SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) is one of the best options out there. Unlike regular FTP, which sends data in plain text, SFTP wraps everything commands, passwords, and files in strong encryption. That means no one can snoop on your transfers, making it ideal for sensitive or private data.

NetDrive makes it super simple to use SFTP and other cloud services. Imagine being able to access platforms like Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, or even FTP and WebDAV servers as if they were just another folder on your computer. With NetDrive, you assign a drive letter to your remote storage, and suddenly it behaves just like a local hard drive. You can drag and drop files, open documents directly, stream videos, or run applications all without manually uploading or downloading anything.

Setting it up is straightforward, too. The built in Site Manager helps you register different storage accounts, and if you need extra security, you can enable HTTPS connections through the Advanced menu. Plus, NetDrive runs quietly in the background you can set it to launch when Windows starts and control it from the system tray. There’s even support for old school command line operations for those who prefer using commands like dir or xcopy.

NetDrive is a paid application, but you can try it out with a fully functional trial. Once the trial ends, you can still use it with some limitations like mounting only one drive, reduced transfer speeds, and a reminder banner. It’s a small trade off for a tool that brings your cloud storage right to your desktop.
