Meet mrViewer – a handy little tool that acts as both an image viewer and a video player. It’s lightweight, so it won’t slow down your system, and it supports a wide range of file formats like .BMP, .JPG, .PNG, .PSD, .MP4, .MOV, .AVI, and many more.

Getting your media into mrViewer is super simple: just drag and drop files into the main window or use the browse button to find what you need. Once your file is loaded, you can tweak settings like frame rate, play or pause videos, jump to the start or end of a clip, adjust volume, and even play with color settings like RGB values, gamma, and exposure.

But that’s just the beginning. mrViewer packs some serious power under the hood. It works as a flipbook player, an HDRI viewer, and even supports multi channel images in formats like OpenEXR, PSD, and TIFF. It can handle animated GIFs, deep OpenEXR images, and comes with Color Transformation Language and ACES 1.0 support for color pros. If you're into 3D, you’ll appreciate its passive stereo support for anaglyph, side by side, and other 3D formats.

On the downside, the interface can feel a bit cluttered and not the easiest to navigate at first. Thankfully, tooltips pop up to give you hints as you explore. And there are some nice touches too – like customizable hotkeys, viewable log files, and detailed info about your media files (size, format, compression, etc.). You can even check histograms for images and use touchscreen controls if your device supports them.

All in all, mrViewer is a capable media tool with a lot to offer, especially if you work with professional formats. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve when you first open it up.
