Meat Boy
Get ready, gamers – Super Meat Boy is about to drop, and it’s shaping up to be one of the wildest platformers we’ve seen in a while. Created by the dynamic duo Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes (aka Team Meat), this game is the full blown sequel to their earlier Flash hit, Meat Boy. Mark your calendars: it’s launching on May 27th, 2021, and you’ll be able to grab it on Apple iPad and Nintendo Wii. No word yet on whether it’s coming to PlayStation Portable or Xbox Live Arcade, but fingers crossed!
So what’s the deal with Super Meat Boy? Picture this: you’re controlling an alien biker tearing through some seriously messed up, post crash spaceship ruins. The vibe is gritty, fast, and totally chaotic. You’re blasting aliens, dodging obstacles, and collecting stars to beef up your character as you go. It’s one of those games that just feels good to play – the controls are tight, the action is non stop, and the whole thing oozes style.
Honestly, what makes Super Meat Boy so special is how it mashes up different genres without losing its identity. It’s got the intensity of an action game, the brain teasing moments of a puzzler, and even a little sim like progression with those upgrades. And let’s not forget the soundtrack – it absolutely slaps. Every level pulls you in deeper, and nailing a perfect run gives you that classic “one more try” addiction. Even though the game sticks to its core theme, it’s got something for everyone.
I’m seriously hyped to get my hands on this one. With this much creativity and polish, I’ve got a feeling the Metacritic score is going to be sky high. If you’re into challenging, inventive games that don’t take themselves too seriously, keep an eye on this one. It’s gonna be a blast.
