LiveVIEW
If you're looking to build dynamic, interactive views for your data, LiveView is a powerful tool designed specifically for Windows users. Unlike many other visual tools, LiveView isn't built on WPF or tied to Microsoft Office it's a standalone application developed in C++ with the help of a utility language called Flexibility. Think of Flexibility as a WYSIWYG text editor that gives you full control over every part of your LiveView project, from creating and modifying layouts to managing how your data is displayed.
One of the coolest things about LiveView is how self contained it is. You don’t need to jump between different apps everything happens right inside the LiveView workspace. With LiveView Desktop, you can access, analyze, and visualize your data from anywhere on your desktop. Whether you're running queries, generating charts, tweaking tables, or just sending commands to a LiveView Server, it’s all doable in one place. Plus, your active sessions are automatically saved to a temporary folder, so you never lose your progress.
Creating a new perspective in LiveView is pretty straightforward. Start by selecting your main perspective, then head to the toolbar at the top of the workspace. You’ll see multiple desktop views, each offering a different angle on your data. The default view is your main workspace, but you can easily switch to another by clicking its icon. Want to go back? Just click anywhere in the workspace. While some of the alternate views might not be game changers for everyday use, having the flexibility to customize your perspective is a nice touch for power users.
