Created by developer David Moralejo Sánchez, the game takes clear inspiration from classics. It mixes the exploration vibe of Zelda with the intense, room by room combat of Enter the Gungeon, and layers on the consequential decision making of games like Reigns. You step into the boots of an adventurer drawn by rumors of unimaginable wealth, but the dungeon has other plans.

Every descent into the crypt is a fresh challenge. The layout reshuffles, presenting new floors packed with mysterious items, vicious monsters, and devious traps. Your survival hinges on carefully managing four key resources: Health, Energy, your Humanity, and Gold. You'll find shops run by shady merchants, but be warned spend more than you have, and the debt might come back to haunt you in a very literal sense.

Combat and exploration are driven by a clever card system. You'll build a deck of actions, find enchanted weapons and magical artifacts, and face enemies that inflict all sorts of nasty status effects, forcing you to adapt your strategy on the fly. The real hook is the progression; as you play, you permanently unlock new character classes, powerful weapons, and loyal companions, all of which add new cards and possibilities to future runs.

The crypt is divided into five distinct areas, each with its own aesthetic, enemy types, and a terrifying unique boss waiting at the end.
