Freight Train Simulator Freight Train Simulator

Freight Train Simulator

Ever wanted to drive a freight train without all the complicated buttons and switches? Freight Train Simulator might be the game for you but don’t let the name fool you. Developed by GameHitZone.com, this Windows title is free to play and sits somewhere between an arcade game and a light sim. It’s easy to pick up, but it might not keep you hooked for long.

Each level gives you a section of track and a time limit. Your job? Get your train moving, control your speed, and bring it to a smooth stop at the station. The controls are super simple: just four keys. Press F and V to speed up or slow down, and use G and B to work the brakes. You can even switch your viewpoint with the mouse if you want a different angle. It’s straightforward maybe a little too straightforward.

Visually, Freight Train Simulator is pretty basic. The trains look blocky, the scenery is flat, and there’s not much life or detail in the world around you. You won’t find a detailed dashboard or real world physics here just a speedometer and the track ahead. If you’re expecting something like Train Sim World or Derail Valley, you might be disappointed. This is more of a casual time passer than a hardcore sim.

All in all, Freight Train Simulator is a simple, no frills game that’s best for quick play sessions. It’s not going to satisfy simulation fans, and the lack of depth and visual polish makes it hard to strongly recommend. But if you’re just killing time and want something easy to control, it might be worth a quick download.
