Desert Moto Racing

So you're thinking about trying out Desert Moto Racing? Let's talk about it. This is a single player motocross game that throws you into you guessed it a desert setting. It’s got two modes to keep you busy, but honestly, that might be stretching it.

Motocross itself is a super intense sport. It started way back in the UK as motorcycle trials and has since exploded into all kinds of wild variations like Freestyle, Supercross, ATV racing, and even Sidecarcross. When it comes to video games, nailing the physics and feel of real bike handling is everything. That’s where Desert Moto Racing kinda drops the ball.

This game feels more like one of those free, barebones mobile titles you’d play for five minutes and forget. You only get an accelerator button no leaning, no braking, no fancy moves. The camera is locked in an isometric view, so don’t expect to change angles mid race. The tracks are super straightforward, mostly made of shipping containers stacked into ramps. Your only real challenge is timing your speed on jumps. It gets old fast.

There are two modes: Racing Contest and Ghost Race. But even with that, there’s just not much depth here. The graphics are pretty basic, and the environment doesn’t change much it’s just sand, sky, and containers. Oh, and during installation, the game actually asks if you want to change your browser homepage. Not cool.

Compared to big name motocross games like the MX vs. ATV series or even older classics like Excitebike, this one falls flat. It’s not terrible if you want something mindless to kill a few minutes, but if you’re looking for excitement or realism, you might wanna skip this one.

Pros:
Tracks are simple and linear
Ramp setups are kinda fun
Camera doesn’t spin you around
Camera moves up and down with your bike

Cons:
Gameplay feels bland and repetitive
The road is way too bright almost blinding
Environment is static and boring
Asks to change your homepage during install (seriously?)

All in all, Desert Moto Racing is one of those games that had potential but didn’t deliver. Unless you’re really into super casual, no frills racing, your time is probably better spent elsewhere.
