The game is split into two distinct campaigns. In Deliverance, you assemble a party of heroes to siege the monstrous castle of the tyrant Alaric. You'll fight room by room, building a powerful deck of attacks, spells, and skills to survive his vicious hordes. Flip the script in Reign, and you become Alaric. Here, your goal is to defend your domain. You'll summon monsters, set deadly traps, and use corrupting magic to stop the invading heroes dead in their tracks. It’s incredibly satisfying to play both roles and see the strategic challenges from opposite angles.

True to its roguelike roots, every run is a fresh climb (or defense) through procedurally generated floors, each ending with a tough, unique boss fight. What really makes your strategies sing is the sheer variety. With six different classes each having its own special buffs, debuffs, and resource mechanics no two runs ever feel the same. You're constantly making meaningful choices: which cards to add to your deck, which paths to take for rewards, and how to upgrade your key abilities to suit your playstyle.

Whether you're just dipping your toes into deckbuilders or you're a seasoned veteran hungry for a challenge, Deliverance & Reign has you covered. The learning curve is smooth for newcomers, but the optional "Hell Layers" difficulty modifiers will push even the most expert players to their absolute limits. And the best part? You don't have to choose a side. The game keeps separate saves and progression for each mode, so you can freely swap between building your hero's legend or cementing your villain's reign anytime, without losing an ounce of progress. It's a devilishly good time.
