De Blob De Blob

De Blob

So I finally got around to playing De Blob, and wow what a trip! If you're into puzzle games that really make you think (and maybe sweat a little), this one’s a hidden gem. The whole thing is styled as de BLOB, which already gives off those quirky, creative vibes.

You start off controlling this simple cube, and your job is to snap different colored pieces together to build sections of the puzzle. The pieces come in blue, red, orange, yellow, and green, and you’re moving in 3D space, which already adds a cool layer of challenge. The goal? Create the most solid block possible using the fewest moves, turns, and angles. It sounds straightforward, but trust me, it’s anything but.

The first level is no joke it’s probably the toughest part of the game. You’ve got to navigate this path while dodging enemy fireballs and other obstacles. It reminds me a bit of some Sims games in how each level is broken into rooms with different color combos, but here the pressure is real from the get go.

Things get even wilder in the second and third levels. Now you’re dealing with enemy waves that you have to clear before moving to the next room. And thank goodness for power ups! You can grab these collectibles that boost your cube’s speed, help with vertical movement, or even pause the action. Each power up is worth three points, and once you use 'em, they go back into the pool for later. Super handy when you’re in a tight spot.

This game is HARD. Like, use every brain cell you have hard. But that’s also what makes it so satisfying. When you finally solve a de Blob puzzle, it feels like a real accomplishment. The sound effects are a nice touch too they’re crisp and add to the whole vibe. You can turn them off if you want, but honestly, they make the experience better.

All in all, De Blob is a clever, challenging, and oddly addictive puzzle game. If you don’t mind a mental workout and love that "aha!" moment, give this one a shot.
