Bombermaaan

If you're a fan of classic DOS era games, you've got to check out Bomberma a charming little gem that puts you in the paws of a heroic kitten on a mission. The story goes like this: Bombermaaan, the last surviving member of a trio (after the other two turned evil), is out to rescue Princess Sigruna's captured father. It’s a classic damsel or in this case, dad in distress scenario, but with a fuzzy, adorable twist.

Originally released on disc (we’re talking old school physical media here), Bomberma also got an updated version with extra stages and bonus content. It’s a bit puzzling why it wasn’t distributed on regular CDs back in the day, because this game has personality. If you ask me, it totally deserves a thumbs up, especially if you enjoy retro puzzle adventures.

At its heart, Bomberma is a loving remake of the classic Bomberman, but with its own unique flavor. You guide your tiny feline hero through maze like castle rooms, dodging obstacles and battling an evil robot named Bomber (sometimes called Bouncer). The twist? It’s played from a first person perspective, meaning you use your mouse to direct the kitten’s movement a fresh take that keeps things interesting.

Admittedly, the controls might feel a little clunky at first if you’re used to modern games, but they grow on you. I’m no keyboard wizard, but I didn’t struggle much. The levels are designed horizontally rather than vertically, which makes navigating corners and collecting items surprisingly smooth. Even though there aren’t a ton of stages, the game paces itself well power ups help you blaze through levels, and reaching the next challenge feels quick and satisfying.

All in all, Bomberma is a nostalgic, fun packed experience that’s perfect for retro gaming enthusiasts or anyone looking for something lighthearted and clever. Don’t sleep on this one!
