If you ever spent hours playing the classic Bomberman or jumping through the Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario, then Bomber Mario is like a dream crossover come true. This fan made remake blends the explosive puzzle action of Bomberman with the charming world of Mario, creating a fresh yet nostalgic experience that’s totally free to play.

Just like in the old school Bomberman games, you’re dropped into a maze filled with blocks, power ups, and enemies only this time, you’re navigating as Mario. Your goal? Place bombs strategically to take out enemies like Koopa Troopas and Goombas, all while avoiding getting caught in your own blasts. Each level gets progressively trickier, demanding sharper timing and smarter moves.

But don’t let the cute graphics fool you this game can be seriously challenging. One misstep or poorly timed bomb, and you’re done for. The enemies are persistent, and the maze layouts keep you on your toes. It’s easy to pick up, but tough to master.

The biggest letdown, though, is the lack of a multiplayer mode. Bomberman was legendary for its chaotic couch co op and versus matches, and it’s a real missed opportunity not to include that here. Playing against a friend as Luigi or another character would’ve been an instant classic feature.

That said, if you’re a fan of either franchise, Bomber Mario is a fun, respectful homage that doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel it just lets you enjoy two iconic worlds colliding. It may not revolutionize the genre, but it’s a blast for anyone craving some retro inspired action.
